Sr. DevSecOps Engineer

Job Summary

 We are seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer to join our team focused on delivering secure and efficient software solutions for federal government projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps practices, security protocols, and federal compliance standards. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle while ensuring adherence to federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain DevSecOps practices in alignment with federal standards and regulations.

  • Design and automate CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure and efficient software delivery.

  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate security measures into applications and infrastructure.

  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for software development and deployment.

  • Monitor and analyze security incidents, providing timely responses and remediation strategies.

  • Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements relevant to federal projects.

  • Provide training and guidance to team members on secure coding practices and DevSecOps methodologies.

  • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and compliance reviews.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of security principles, practices, and tools in a federal context.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services.

  • Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, RMF) and security standards.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP, Certified Cloud Security Professional - CCSP).

  • Experience working on federal contracts or with government agencies.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
